We needed a pair of boots that would keep my daughters feet dry here in the always rainy Paciific NW and I wanted leather and durability. We looked everywhere, it's hard to find a nice real leather boot for girls that is practical and not with a 2inch heel. These Keen Laken boots are perfect. My daughter can run through the grass on the playground and not have to sit in wet shoes for the rest of the day. They are insulated too (not bulky, more like lined) and should take us through fall, winter, and spring. The rubber curled over the tip of the toe has saved them from the usual toe scuffing. I would say they fit true to size, I actually ordered a bigger size based on another review and had to go back and order her true size. No worries though we will keep the bigger ones for next year.

I ordered the Laken boot in grey for my toddler. In the past, I've usually stuck to ordering from another brand of shoe. It makes it easier to track her shoe size and growth that way, but have occasionally purchased Keen for its endurance and comfortability.
We received these boots about an hour ago and she has been wearing them around the house. She's very excited about her new shoes. I especially like the tread on the bottom, very cushy sole, and waterproofing. The toe is protected on the outside with rubber, and inside, there is structure around the toe(much like a steel toe frame, but I'm sure Keen uses a different material). I only gave 4 stars because i cant quite squeeze down on her toes to see where they rest, and check if there is too much room, etc. Regardless, it's a perfect shoe for preschool outdoor play in this wintery weather.
The quality is really above standard. Very happy with purchase, and sale price. Worth it.

Bought these for my niece for Christmas because she was looking for some rain boots. She loved them very nice and cute boots. She says they are very warm and comfortable and she doesn't get her feet wet any more lol
